Peter Haas

Pastor, Substance Church

Keynote Speaker
Greater St. Paul Prayer Breakfast 2011

Peter Haas is a well-known pastor, author and conference speaker who experienced a radical conversion to Christianity while working in a nightclub as a rave-d.j.

In 2004, Peter and his wife and three young children relocated to the Twin Cities and subsequently planted an arts-oriented multi-site church called Substance, which now has four locations. Interestingly, 70 percent of Substance's attendees are under 29 years old, and most have not attended church in the past. Naturally, people are curious about how and why Substance seems to thrive in reaching some of the most "church-resistant" demographics in the U.S. In light of this, Peter will be sharing some fascinating trends about why so many young people are giving up on church -- and how this could dramatically reshape American Christianity as we know it.

Incidentally, Peter's new comedic memoir, "Phari-sectomy: How to Remove Your Inner Pharisee and Other Religiously Transmitted diseases," is to be released in January, 2012.
